What is Cleft Lip and Palate?

Cleft and Lip Palate are a birth defect where a child's lip and palate do not form together 

Cleft Palate 

Cleft Palate occurs when the tissue that form the roof the mouth do not fuse together properly. 

Cleft Lip 

Cleft Lip occurs when the tissues that make up the lip do not form together properly leaving a split in the lip.
